A typical day at GREAT HUCKLOW!!!

 

8am – Breakfast (full English plus cereals) with morning songs/rounds

8.45 - Singalong in the Hall, some with actions

9 to 11am – 2 sets of 1 hour Piano lessons: 20 mins for every child in a group of 3 children.

     2 observe (and learn! while 1 has a lesson. Parents of all 3 children present,

taking notes.

11 am – tea break with biscuit or cakes.

11.30 to 1pm – more lessons. Duet/Trio practise, depending on day. One day may include

     string trios, another piano ensemble pieces.

     One day will offer improvisation and sightreading groups, dep. on age/ability.

9 to 11am/ 11.30 to 1pm - those children not involved with piano/ensemble practises have

     Dalcroze(music and movement) session in hall

1pm - Packed lunch to be collected, can be taken for picnic or eaten in house or

     garden.

Afternoon: free for walks, play, drive to nearby tourist attractions or practise with string

     players if it is a string ensemble day.

4.30 - Concerts: Solos, Ensembles, Chamber music etc. depending on day

5.30 - Supper (with songs, rounds)

6.15 - One Day: Parent Sightreading workshop

     - Another Day: Percussion workshop or other visiting artists

7 pm     - Games (Parachute and others)

   or: - Teachers’ Concert

   or: - The (in-) famous Parent Talent Show!!!

late nite: - Wine and chat; pub next door; night strolls...

 

From morning ‘til late: Practise opportunities in many rooms.

 

All day and Every Day: Art Room with opportunities for brilliant crafts and designs

 

AND:        Make new friends, but keep the old
