Welcome to PeakSuzuki - The residential Suzuki piano summer school |
|
PeakSuzuki is an annual Suzuki piano summer school set in Peak District National Park. Based at the Nightingale Centre in Great Hucklow, the event has run every summer since 2003. The concept is simple: lots of music, fun and learning. Open to children up to and including the age of 13, with a parent, PeakSuzuki provides a 'musical boost' during the long summer holiday. Usually starting at around mid-day on a Saturday, the course runs until tea time on the following Tuesday. During the course, students will have three 50-minute group piano lessons with Suzuki teachers as well as Kodaly/Dalcroze sessions every day. Also in the programme are daily children's concerts, a teacher's concert, a talent show (talents other than piano), arts and crafts, and a 'surprise' evening where something good always happens be it a harpist, an African drummmer or a square dance! |
